Sodium 5-sulfoisophthalate copolyester is a sulfonated polyester polymer modifier produced from sodium 5-sulfoisophthalate, dimethyl terephthalate, ethylene glycol and diethylene glycol. It is mainly used as a hydrophilic polyester additive, dyeable polyester modifier, dispersant polymer, and functional copolyester component. Applications include textile fibers, water-dispersible polyester materials, coatings, adhesives, polymer blends and specialty polyester formulations. The sulfonate groups improve hydrophilicity, dye affinity and compatibility with other polymer systems.
